Cryin' issues

When I took Ty in for his first checkup the doctor looked at me and asked very sweetly how I was doing with a new baby in the house. I was doing great, I answered. All was well.

Then she started talking about the 'baby blues' that sometimes followed the birth of a child.... A depressed state for a temporary time. She had it after her third. It's perfectly normal she said, and will go away with time.
"Good information," I thought "but really, I'm doing great."
That was the first week.

Now I'm in my second, and OY! I did NOT see this coming.
The hormones! The emotions! I've been SUCH a mess.
Tears sneak out of my eyes when I least expect them. I can't stop them. I can't hide them.

When Hayley sees the tears flowing she gets really upset and demands to know what is going on. I tried to explain that sometimes when moms have babies, weird things go on inside their brains that make them cry a lot for no reason. Now whenever she sees tears she asks, "Is it that brain thing again?"
All I can do is laugh and say "Yep."
When Daddy gets home from work she'll give him the report: "Mom's been havin' some cryin' issues again."
She cracks me up.

My sweet husband took a half-day today to spend time with me and get me out of this funk. Have I mentioned lately how much I love him? He is my rock.

Okay well it's 2:02 am...on May 21, (the beginning of the end of the world.) It's a very big day you know. I better get some sleep. ;)

Charmer

Ty was being ignored during breakfast, so J decided to make him the center of attention.

8 lbs and 11oz of LOVE

We didn't have a name for our little boy when we left for the hospital early Saturday morning.
Nor did we remember our camera.
Nor did J remember to bring an extra set of clothes for himself to change into.
Nor were my legs shaved/toenails painted nice for my delivery like I had planned.

But after all was said and done, none of that seemed to matter.

Because we got HIM.
And he is perfect.

Grammy and Grandpa Bret ended up bringing us our camera...(and a couple of cute girls to visit us in the hospital)

And we eventually settled on a name.
My legs eventually got shaved and toenails painted.

But J never did get his change of clothes...

So we sat together in our funk for 2 1/2 days.

And fell in love with our little man.

Born May 7th, 12:15 pm
With a cute birthmark on his right butt cheek.
Mother's Day 2011 (May 8)

We're home from the hospital today and are feeling like the luckiest 4 people alive.
Thank you so much for all of your love and support over the past few days and weeks.

We appreciate it more than you know!

I thought this kind of thing only happened on tv..

Today Jordan and I were getting ready for church, trying DESperately to get to our 9:00 meeting on time (for once.) When he completed his bathroom routine, he put his 'supplies' back into the medicine cabinet and started heading out of the bathroom. In order to be efficient I decided rather than letting him all of the way out of the bathroom before I came in, I would just slide right passed him through the doorway, to begin my own pre-church bathroom routine.
No biggie. We do that sort of thing all the time.

The only thing is, I'm not usually 9 MONTHS PREGNANT.

We didn't quite make it passed each other this time.
Instead we got stuck right in the middle of the doorway, my belly (which was in the middle of a contraction at the time, and hard as a rock) pushed up against his, pinning him against the door frame with not a centimeter to budge.
(I can NOT contain my laughter as I'm typing this)
Neither of us had ever been in such a predicament before... so we just kind of stood there for a minute and exploded in laughter...
Then, I politely tilted my body to the side to allow him room to pass without further injury.
If there was ever something 'you had to have been there' to see...this was it.

As miserable as I feel/look right now, I'm going to miss being pregnant, if only because of situations like these.

Pitchers

Please excuse me while I ease back into the world of blogging. It's like learning to walk all over again ;)
If you don't mind I'm just going to use this first post as a place to spew forth the few pictures I managed to take over the past couple of months.

You'll find that they are in no particular order...
kind of like my life these days.....

Hayley sittin' with her pals at Girl Scouts...

She's a 'Daisy', did you know?

They were almost undefeated this season and Hayley even scored a goal.
(You should ask her about it sometime. Her story gets better every time she tells it ;)

Cherry Crest Farms

Snuggling with my man.....and pulling a Zoolander face, apparently

Coach

I think I mentioned before how much this little girl loves to play with her food....so
for one of our activities I decided to cook a whole pot of spaghetti for her to dig her hands into.
So much fun.

Hmmm. What was J for Halloween this year? I'll give you three guesses ;)
As much as I tried to get Hayley to be something else, she opted to carry on the tradition of being a beat up soccer player.
(For those who don't know...Jordan has dressed up as a beat-up soccer player for as long as he can remember. Kind of a joke in the family.)

Look at these strapping young men.

This is Tia giving Jeff an ear massage at Hayley's soccer game.
And a bald-head massage.
He rewarded her with Starbursts.
(P.S. Did you know they sell packages of JUST red and pink starbursts? I know! )

"Jinastics"

J totally got pooped on.

I can't decide who's face is the funniest. J was having way too much fun. Tia, not so much.
Funny, but I think playing in the hay, freestyle, was Tia's favorite part of the farm.

Thanks for your patience with me. I'll post a real update soon.

Dear Readers,

A few days after my last dreadful post, I woke up feeling like a new woman. For the most part, I am now able to eat what I want to. I can get out of bed, and clean, and J doesn't have to look for me around the house when he gets home. I feel fantastic and was even able to run a 5k on Saturday. I hope this news is good....I don't know.

I will have an ultra sound on October 25th and will know more then.
I appreciate your thoughts and prayers...I really really do.
Love to all,
C

As requested..

I promised myself I wouldn't complain during this pregnancy, because we've waited and hoped for it for so long.

Heck with that.

Right now, as I write this, I feel like my stomach is eating itself...like REALLY eating itself, in order to get nourishment..... Because it's STARVING....but at the same time, it hates food.

Some days it will tolerate a cheese sandwich for breakfast, but that's it.
Some mornings it wants chili.
One day it yelled at me for a sausage McMuffin
The next it was a burger, fries and a shake
The next day, handfuls of potato chips,
the next day all it would let me eat were cookie dough truffles.
And one day, I don't think I ate anything at all.

At this point, all I'm after is calories. I don't care where they come from.

I'm so starving/tired/starving that all I can do is lay there.... and most days, Jordan will come home to a disaster area and won't be able to find me for a while because I've plopped down on a random bed or floor somewhere to rest.

My parenting skills have deteriorated to almost nothing and my children have watched more tv over the past month than they have in their entire lives. If I had my way they'd be in bed by 6 pm...because I can't deal with the fighting, or the whining, or their constant needs. I feel like I'm constantly getting drinks of water...cleaning their junk off the floor, and wiping poopy butts.

And peeing.

I want my mom.
And a maid.

That's all for now. :)
